The agreement for your use of CiteWise — what we provide, what we do not promise, and what we each owe the other.

Your work stays yours

You keep every right in the documents you upload. The permission you grant us exists solely to deliver the service to you, ends when you delete the content, and does not permit us to train models on your work, publish it, or show it to anyone.

What CiteWise is not

CiteWise is an assistive tool, not an authority. Its findings can be wrong — both false alarms and missed problems — and it is not a substitute for reading the source yourself, for peer review, or for your own judgement as the author.

Credits, plans and payment

CiteWise is metered in credits. Every priced action shows its cost before you confirm it, and the price you are shown is the price charged. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable between accounts.
