Privacy Policy
What CiteWise collects, what happens to your manuscripts, who else sees any of it, and how to get it all deleted.
The short version
Your manuscript is never used to train any model. It is never shared, sold or shown to another user. It is stored, and our servers run, in the European Union. The file you upload is never stored — only the text we extract from it, and only if you save the analysis; temporary working copies delete themselves within 48 hours. Deleting your account deletes all of it, for real.
How your manuscript is processed
The relevant text is sent to Google’s Gemini API, a paid service Google provides to us as a data processor; Google does not use it to train its models. Reference details — titles, authors, DOIs — are looked up in public scholarly databases. When a cited work has no obtainable abstract, a Google Search built from the claim and its reference may be run; Google keeps it for 30 days. The citation finder and source-suggestion features send the sentence you are finding a source for to public scholarly databases and a web search service. The full policy, with every detail, is on this page once it loads.
Your rights
You can correct your profile from your account page at any time, and deleting your account removes every document you own and your login itself. For a copy of your data or anything else, write to support@citewise-ai.com.
